What is Duplex:

Duplex steel with its two-phase structure combines the strengths of austenites and ferrites in one product.

Due to the balanced mixed structure, the aRö® duplex premium offers a strong combination of strength and corrosion resistance. The precisely processed and completely closed weld seam ensures high expansion values and offers no points of attack for crevice corrosion.

aRö® duplex premium anchor chains are ideal for use under extreme conditions due to their outstanding properties. In particular, the aRö® duplex premium are very well suited for demanding use in warm waters up to 35 degrees Celsius.

Surface:

Stained and glossy passivated

Ferritic and non-metallic microparticles can be the starting point for corrosion in untreated stainless steel, as these prevent the seamless formation of the passive layer. A stained and glossy passivated surface eliminates this source of error.

All residues on the surface are removed in the pickling process.

The surface is then passivated with a glossy finish, a continuous passive layer is formed in a controlled process, significantly increasing corrosion resistance.

Advantages of Duplex:

  • Higher corrosion resistance (PREN up to 38.07) sea water resistant.
  • Light weight Due to the high breaking load, a smaller chain diameter can be selected.
  • the chain sprocket may have to be adapted to the chain diameter.
  • Wear-resistant
  • Suitable for all kind of water, also seawater resistant in warm waters up to 35°C.
  • In areas where salt water temperatures can rise well above 27 °C. aRö® duplex stainless steel is recommended due to its significantly higher corrosion resistance.
